3.1 Metrological traceability chain
Metrological traceability is defined as the property of a measurement result whereby this result can be related to a reference through an unbroken, documented chain of calibrations, each of which contributes to the uncertainty of measurement.
The expression "traceability to the SI" means metrological traceability to a unit of measurement in the International System of Units, the ampere in this article.
