The structure of this panel is shown in figure 2. A distinction is made between :

• the network of S₁... S_m electrodes called scan electrodes because they receive the line selection signals during the addressing phase (phase called scanning in English);

• the C₁... Cm electrode array, known as common electrodes because they are generally all interconnected. Combined with the scan electrodes, these electrodes will produce the maintenance discharges that generate...
