1. Projection and rear projection
In a front projection system, the user is located on the same side of the screen as the image projection device. The screen is therefore illuminated from the front (figure

).
The main disadvantage of front projection is its ability to diffuse ambient light. In order to achieve good brightness of the projected image, it is necessary to use a highly reflective white screen. Unfortunately, this has the effect of increasing the reflection rate of ambient light and consequently raising the minimum luminance value that can be achieved (black level).
