The expanded uncertainty is the product of the compound standard uncertainty and the expansion factor k = 2 : .
Reminder of rounding rules to follow :
we consider at most two significant figures for uncertainty (by convention) ;
we increase the uncertainty and round off the measurand value (by convention);
