Changes in terminology and definitions (ISO 9000 and ISO 9001)

Even more so than with the major changes in 2000 and 2015, the 2026 revision of the ISO 9000 and 9001 standards might lead you to believe that your QMS can meet the deadline with minimal changes.

While this isn't technically impossible, it would mean missing out on all opportunities to develop and improve your QMS—unless it is already highly effective and aligned with your company's strategy.

If this were not the case, we would encourage you to carefully explore all the opportunities for development mentioned in the notes of these guidelines or in their appendices, starting with those related to the use of new technologies, automation, and agent-based artificial intelligence.
