Importance of measurements
Thousands of chemical and biological measurements are carried out around the world every day. They are used in all areas of technical and scientific activity. In industry, these measurements are used as quality control tools for raw and manufactured materials. Product verification may be solely for the purpose of quality control (e.g. conformity of production to meet quality standards required by customers) and/or regulatory compliance (e.g. product safety, compliance with a standard, etc.); it may also play a key role in monitoring production processes, controlling the potential impact of production on the environment, or assessing health and safety in the workplace.
