5. Mistakes to avoid
5.1 Never leave a pipette with a used tip in a horizontal position (e.g. on a bench).
Residual liquid must not be allowed to back up into the pipette.
5.2 Do not test in an unstable environment
These instabilities can occur mainly in terms of temperature, but also vibration (centrifuges, vortexes, etc.), pressure and humidity. An unstable environment will disrupt scale operation, especially the stabilization phase, which may be impossible in extreme cases.
