1. Measurement system structure
A vision-based dimensional measurement system consists of the following components:
lighting equipment ;
a lens (optical) ;
one or more CCD cameras;
an acquisition card ;
a microcomputer, an image processing module and, if required, an image display monitor.
The following paragraphs summarize the operating principles and features of these components.
1.1 Lighting
Lighting is a fundamental step in dimensional measurement.
