6. Performance

Using the background as an infrared source ensures day and night operation. Broad-band infrared filters keep the camera's imaging function, enabling it to locate the cloud and, if necessary, provide anti-intrusion surveillance. False-color mapping of the integrated concentrations (C I) measured enables the evolution of the cloud to be tracked, and the source to be positioned.

Figure 7 shows a butane cloud superimposed on the infrared image of the background.
