4. Conclusion

Rheology has rapidly established itself as the tool for analyzing and characterizing the mechanical response of a fluid or material to shear stress. However, it is also a young, evolving discipline in which there is still ample room to describe the properties of fluids and liquids in even more innovative ways. One current area of focus is the optimization of stress transmission to the sample, the quality of which is ensured solely by the fluid’s contact with the surface. The interaction forces between the fluid and the substrate are the starting point of the stress transmission chain to the sample (Figure2).
