3. STL mesh quality
The discretization of a surface can sometimes be a source of defects. These usually lead to problems in the subsequent manufacture of the part. On the other hand, even without defects, the quality of a discretized surface can be assessed by geometric quality criteria.
Following automatic mesh generation, unfortunately several common defects are likely to appear on the discrete geometry obtained.
