2. Minimum range according to legal metrology
There are not many official documents on the subject of minimum
weights. They mainly come from the authorities in charge of legal
metrology:
International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) ;
Ministère de l'industrie, S/Direction de la métrologie.
The normative documents published by AFNOR and CEN/CENELEC reproduce
word for word the information derived from legal metrology.
General Chapter <41> of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP)
has been updated to introduce its minimum weight requirements. USP
General Chapter <1251> provides more details on determining minimum
weight.
A draft article in the European Pharmacopoeia PE clearly defines
minimum weighing requirements.
The cg 18 calibration guide published by Euramet also defines
how to determine the minimum weight.
