MSC (Master Sintering Curves); Master Sintering Curve
A semi-empirical approach used to describe sintering kinetics based on densification data measured under different thermal cycles.
HIP (hot isostatic pressing); Hot isostatic pressing
A material consolidation process that combines high temperature and high isostatic pressure, typically applied using an inert gas.
SPS (flash sintering); Spark Plasma Sintering
Not to be confused with flash sintering.
A rapid powder sintering method similar to hot pressing that relies on the simultaneous application of uniaxial pressure in a pressing die (typically made of carbon) and a pulsed electric current passing through the sample and the die to heat the assembly via the Joule effect.
