7. Conclusions
Arc welding with coated electrodes is a manual welding process, and therefore not very productive. It is losing more and more market share to more competitive, automatable processes such as MAG. Nevertheless, because of its ease of use, it is still used by craftsmen, but also in high-tech fields such as shipbuilding, nuclear power and energy (gas, oil). The quality of the weld beads, which can be excellent, depends mainly on the choice of filler metals and, above all, the dexterity of the welders.
