1.1 Form milling
Figure 1 shows a modular milling cutter. It is a milling disk with a constant profile in all grinding planes passing through the axis.
These modular hobs are standardized (see table
1
). The same cutter covers a given number of gear teeth. The profiles of these teeth are replaced by a number of circular arcs. Figure
