2. Material projection
A photopolymer is sprayed in drop form onto a printing plate. Once deposited on the plate, the photosensitive material is cross-linked under UV light to solidify it. The rest of the process consists of spraying new drops, possibly of a different composition, on top of the previous ones, and building up the required part layer by layer (figure 2). At the end of the printing process, the printed part is separated from the tray and can undergo post-processing (removal of supports) and finishing steps (coloring, for example).
