There are two categories of data manipulated in engine testing:
synthetic quantities, in scalar form, which characterize macroscopically the operation of the motor at a given point;
vector quantities that characterize the engine operating point in detail, but on the scale of the engine cycle.
Synthetic data requires calculations to be carried out in real time, taking into account the parameters recorded at a given time t and used to calculate a formula.
