6. Reducing cavitation effects
There are several ways to limit the harmful effects of cavitation and/or improve pump operating ranges:
reduce the NPSH of pumps by acting on the design of the impeller and feed components;
limit the consequences of cavitation (noise, erosion, vibration) through appropriate mechanical design and choice of materials;
in some cases, use a feed inductor or impeller installed upstream of the impeller, mainly in centrifugal pumps.
