2. Engine study models
The engine thermal architecture model describes three entities:
engine block material ;
Fluid circulation (water, oil) in the engine;
fluid circulation (water, oil, air) in engine peripheral circuits.
First of all, the metal masses of the cylinder head, crankcase and pistons (four in the example chosen) are discretized and described. The discretization takes into account thermal gradients due to the system's geometry and the temporal evolution of source terms, in order to achieve greater accuracy in high-flux areas.
