4. Gas-steam combined cycle with total afterburning
In the CCFF case, the excess air in the gas turbine exhaust fumes is consumed almost entirely to burn additional fuel. The result is a sharp rise in the temperature of the gas turbine exhaust fumes (from 500 to 600°C to over 1,000°C). Heat exchange in the steam boiler is achieved by both convection and radiation. We can immediately conclude that the steam boiler is similar in structure to conventional steam power plants.
The high thermal potential of the flue gases after post-combustion makes it easy to achieve high parameters in the steam section. Limitations are similar to those encountered in conventional steam cycles.
