Three-way" catalyst: catalyst operating at stoichiometry and simultaneously oxidizing CO and HC and reducing NO _x . It is fitted to gasoline-powered vehicles.

Cerine: cerium oxide CeO ₂ widely used in automotive catalysts to store oxygen thanks to the redox properties of the Ce ⁴⁺ /Ce ³⁺ couple. This property enables the catalyst to continue working during rich phases (deficient in O ₂ ).
