Additive manufacturing. General principles

Rapid manufacturing

The use of additive manufacturing to produce finished, functional products or tools.

Rapid prototyping

The use of additive manufacturing to produce intermediate representations of product designs, such as concepts or functional prototypes.

Auxetic structure; auxetic design

A structure whose internal geometry results in a negative Poisson's ratio, meaning that it expands when stretched and contracts when compressed.
