Simple in design, these machines are the result of early construction. They are hardly ever made anymore, except for general mechanical purposes or for very special broaching operations, such as long workpieces. In general, as shown in figure 1 , the machine is designed around a horizontal working axis. The lower part of the main frame rests on the floor, while the upper part, forming a cavity, accommodates the workstation with vertical support for the workpiece to be broached.
