3. Cold compressor rotors
The "cold" compressors of turbojet engines, which include the low-pressure compressor and the upstream part of the high-pressure compressor, are made up of a set of successive discs, mechanically or metallurgically interconnected and fitted with blades, whose function is to compress the air to be burned in the combustion chamber.
3.1 Choice of materials
The external constraints are as follows:
virtually finished machined parts, which means using processes that generate low welding shrinkage;
parts with certified service life, working in low-cycle fatigue and requiring proven non-propagation of potential defects.
