norm; standard
Reference document established by consensus and approved by a recognized body, which provides, for common and repeated use, rules, guidelines or characteristics for activities or their results, guaranteeing an optimum level of order in a given context.
normalization; standardization
Activity that culminates in the publication of standards or normative documents (reports/technical specifications), in order to establish a common frame of reference in one or more sectors. This activity is organized within state bodies (most often) or organizations set up by professionals in a given sector.
