6. Use of cutting tools
Oxycutting and plasma cutting can be implemented with manual tools (flashlights or torches), whereas laser cutting CO
2
and waterjet cutting are never - at least currently - implemented by hand.
The operating process does not require lengthy commentary. The operator moves his cutting tool over the workpiece at a suitable speed and along a trajectory generally marked by a preliminary trace directly executed on the workpiece, or defined by a rough guide (ruler, compass, etc.). All the operator has to do is watch out for slag or molten metal splashes, on the one hand, and any possible pollution, on the other.
