6. Joint design
The choice of preparation depends on many factors, such as those directly linked to the sheets to be joined (nature of the material, fluidity of the molten metal, surface tensions, thickness of the sheets, etc.) or factors linked to the requirements of the service (complete penetration or not, joint coefficient, etc.).
