4.1.1 Wave generation
Various mechanisms can be used to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy for the development of converters: the electrodynamic effect, the electrostatic effect, the magnetic effect, the magnetostrictive effect, the electrostrictive effect or the piezoelectric effect. We do not cover all these mechanisms here. We'll confine our presentation to the piezoelectric effect, which is the main one used in modern power converters.
