4. Examples of shrink-fit applications
This section describes two particularly significant cases of shrink-fit assemblies in which the stresses produced during assembly, which can be described as static and initial, interact by superimposition with those generated by the use of these assemblies. These are, on the one hand, a split tube subjected to internal pressure and, on the other, the shrink-fit assembly of a wheel on an axle subjected to rotation.
