Geometric interference
Interferences are phenomena that occur either during the generating operation (hobbing, grinding, etc.), or during the meshing of a pinion with a wheel, under unfavorable conditions such that certain useful parts of the profile are trimmed by the tool, or that the conjugate profiles of pinion and wheel tend to penetrate each other at certain times. Let's start with the most striking case of hobbing interference.
