Flow through ducts occurs in a wide variety of engineering applications. Convergent nozzles are used for subsonic and sonic flows. Convergent-divergent nozzles are generally used for supersonic flows. Some of the flow characteristics of these nozzles will be discussed below, but on the whole they satisfy isotropic flow laws (except in the presence of shock waves)....
