Pulleys and drive belts - Synchronous drive

The operating principle of a synchronous belt is the same as that of a chain, but its (continuous) construction is that of an adhesion-driven belt, and the basic materials used in its construction are the same. As a result, its behavior is virtually identical to that of an adhesion-driven belt (continuity of stresses in the cords, elasticity of materials, etc.).
