5. Performance and yields
Most pumps and motors are designed for a reference speed, called rated speed.
Compared to this speed, they can accept higher speeds under certain conditions. They therefore have a maximum speed.
In some technologies, proper operation is only guaranteed above a minimum speed, for example when the lift is hydrodynamic.
We're going to clarify these two notions.
