4. Acoustic microscopy dedicated to irradiated materials and its adaptation
While from a theoretical point of view "it's enough to measure the V(z)" to gain access to the elastic moduli, in practice the problem proves more complex, as in UO2 (irradiated or not) the V(z) shows only one periodicity due to the Rayleigh wave (figure 5). The periodicity due to the longitudinal wave and necessary to estimate E and G is too weak to be exploited accurately.
