4. Moiré

4.1 General

Consider two line arrays, alternately opaque and transparent, with neighboring pitches. When these two networks are superimposed, a third network of lines generally appears, with a larger pitch, known as the visible moiré.

Some examples of moiré phenomena are shown in figure 12 .
