5. Conclusion
Various methods can be used to calibrate and verify liquid flowmeters.
Whether gravimetric, volumetric or by comparison with a standard flowmeter,
each of them must be carefully analyzed in order to select the most
appropriate method for a given problem. The variety of conditions
of use, calibration and parameters influencing the measurement of
the quantities of interest are all criteria for selecting the method
best suited to the metrological need. The diversity of calibration
and verification options available, whatever the need, is representative
of the complexity of situations encountered on site. In all cases,
traceability, the representativeness of calibration conditions and
the establishment of a justified uncertainty budget will ensure the
