4. Cumulative results

The quantity θ to be estimated is the sum of N quantities identified by the index i.

Example

sum of uranium masses contained in N tanks, or monthly sum of toxic masses discharged daily into a storage tank (N = 30).

4.1 Study of individual results

  • In some cases, the N quantities are measured directly, for example if θ is the sum of impurities contained in a chemical sample.

    The i ème magnitude is estimated by a corrected result c i obtained as described in the previous paragraphs. This result can be compared with a decision threshold:
