4. Instrument configurations
As mentioned in the previous paragraph, instrumental parameters have an influence on the intensity of emission lines and therefore on analytical results. Similarly, the instrumental configuration of a LIBS system is equally important, and must be adapted to the needs and, above all, the constraints of use. It is possible to identify several families of configurations (figure 8). These are described in detail in the following paragraphs.
