Pipettes - How it works

1. Attach the tip, set the volume, press the pipetting button to the first notch (measuring stroke), immerse the tip 2-3 mm in the sample.

Hold pipette vertically.

2. Allow the pipetting knob to rise regularly and observe filling. Avoid turbulence in the tip to prevent aerosol formation and outgassing. Optimum aspiration speed depends on sample properties.

Important: when the knob has returned to the starting position (upper stop), lift the thumb (a full trigger gives the best repeatability).

Slowly remove the tip from the liquid. Remove any drops adhering to the tip.
