The purpose of substation operation and control facilities is to ensure (local or remote) operation, monitoring, protection and restoration of service after an incident on the power system, by acting on various substation components:
To achieve this, a substation is structured into different sections, each of which contains a set of high- and low-voltage equipment and circuits, geographically and functionally linked to a specific part of the substation.
