3. Characterization of high-voltage AC devices

The conditions of use of high-voltage switchgear are extremely varied. This makes it necessary to use all or part of a number of performance definitions, known as rated characteristics, to characterize a device. In this section 3 , we describe these characteristics in detail, recalling the conditions of use to which they refer.
