On alignment or flexible angle chains (chain in alignment but with a shallow line angle), the conductor is fixed by means of a clamp comprising a gutter in which the cable is held either energetically to prevent slipping, or by means of an elastic device if controlled slipping of the conductor is desired; this gutter can generally oscillate around a horizontal axis perpendicular to the cable (oscillating clamp).

Attachment to the insulator chain is by means of a part L, known as a lantern (figure 3 ), which, in the case of non-oscillating clamps, is integral with the gutter G by design. To limit the inclination of the chains or their lifting...
