Voltage quality - Introduction

The operation of equipment on electrical networks (power cuts, capacitor switching, etc.) is accompanied by transients of varying magnitude. Figure 1 illustrates this case. In this example, in addition to a temporary increase in voltage amplitude, it is important to note the appearance of "steep-edge" (rapidly changing) signals. Such signals are particularly damaging, as they can easily couple with any nearby electronic circuit and propagate along the circuitry.
