3. Case Study

To validate the effectiveness of the proposed SIE implementation method, this section presents the water electrolyzer as a practical application case, introducing the power-source-based SIE implementation as well as the experimental results obtained.

As a load-type device that absorbs energy, the water electrolyzer requires control of the connected power supply in order to inject disturbance signals for SIE measurements. Conventional DC power supplies often have limitations when it comes to generating wide-bandwidth disturbance signals (> 6 kHz), making it necessary to use a wide-bandwidth programmable load connected in parallel.
