3. Current tools for exploring natural hydrogen
Industrial interest in the exploration and production of natural hydrogen is extremely recent. This means that the tools developed for its exploration are all in the making, with new ones appearing very regularly, while the older ones are constantly being improved. We will briefly present some of these tools, although this list is not exhaustive.
As with all exploration for geological raw materials, the first pieces of information are found on the Earth's surface. The main mineral deposits were found by prospectors looking for clues on the ground. Oil was discovered by seepage from the surface of the globe in certain regions, which later proved to contain large deposits in their subsoils.
