7. Conclusion
Thermal converters play a very important role in the energy chain. However, it has to be said that these are essentially dithermal systems. As far as trithermal sorption machines are concerned, despite their good thermodynamic and technical performances, their development suffers from competition from mechanical compression systems, and their market penetration is limited to energy recovery markets and sites where electrification is deficient. The challenge for these systems is to find out how they can be successfully integrated into the energy chain following the energy transition, including the recovery of waste heat.
