The proposed calculation method is a two-stage process:

• first, an initial assessment of the furnace diameter is made, based on the desired production (P₁), using the law of material transport inside a rotating, inclined tube ;

• in a second step, reconciling the heat exchange capacity and the energy requirements for clinkerization enables a second evaluation of the kiln output (P₂); this evaluation is based on the diameter estimated above, taking an arbitrary kiln length of 16.4 D_i, of which 12 D_i are allocated to decarbonation.
