5. Steam generators

5.1 Description and operation

Steam generators (SGs) transfer heat from primary water to the secondary water-steam circuit. The tube bundle and tube plate are part of the primary pressure vessel. They form a watertight barrier between the primary and secondary circuits, helping to contain the primary circuit's radioactivity.
