2.1 History and assessment of La Hague plant operations
The creation of the UP3 (chain A) and UP2 800 processing-recycling plants was authorized by decree on May 12, 1981. The main fuel processing and waste conditioning workshops (figure 1 ) were commissioned at regular intervals between 1986 for the first fuel storage pools and 2001 for the final R4 plutonium processing workshop at UP2-800.
