Radionuclides Transfers in Air, Soils and Watercourses

Radioecology is at the heart of the assessment of people's exposure to radioactivity in the environment, whether natural or caused by human activities that release radioactive substances into the environment (nuclear industry, pharmaceutical industry, medical activities, etc.) or increase the concentration of natural radionuclides. The main aim is to understand and explain radionuclide concentrations in the various components of the environment. Radioecology is involved in two complementary approaches:

• transfer modeling for predictive purposes ;

• acquisition of measurement results, notably as part of radiological monitoring programs.
